The information contained in this Knowledge Base Article is intended for use by the students staying at the Hampton Inn.
This Knowledge Base Article will provide you with the steps for connecting your computer (macOS or Microsoft Windows) to the hidden Bates WiFi network at the Hampton Inn.
macOS (Visible WiFi Icon on Menu Bar):
Step 1:
- Locate your WiFi Status Icon on your Mac's menu bar.
- Click on the WiFi Status Icon to reveal a list of available WiFi Networks.
Step 2:
- From the drop-down menu, click on Other Networks.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the list and click on Other....
Step 3:
- Type in the following information:
- Network Name: Bates
- Security: WPA2/WPA3 Personal
- Password: Bobc@t1855
- Place a checkmark in the check box next to Remember this network.
- Click on the Join button.
macOS (No Visible WiFi Icon on Menu Bar):
Step 1:
- If the WiFi Status Icon is not visible on your Mac's menu bar -
- Click on the Apple menu ().
- From the drop-down menu, click on System Preferences.
- Click on the Network icon.
- At the bottom of the Network Preferences window, place a checkmark in the check box next to Show Wi-Fi status in menu bar.
Step 2:
- Now locate your WiFi Status Icon on your Mac's menu bar.
- Click on the WiFi Status Icon to reveal a list of available WiFi Networks.
Step 3:
- From the drop-down menu, click on Other Networks.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the list and click on Other....
Step 4:
- Type in the following information:
- Network Name: Bates
- Security: WPA2/WPA3 Personal
- Password: Bobc@t1855
- Place a checkmark in the check box next to Remember this network.
- Click on the Join button.
Microsoft Windows 10:
Step 1:
Click on the Start button.
Step 2:
Click on the Settings Gear to launch the Settings app.
Step 3:
Click on the Network & Internet option.
Step 4:
- Click on Wi-Fi in the left pane.
- Click on Manage known networks in the right pane.
Step 5:
From the Manage known networks window, click on the + Add a network button.
Step 6:
In the Add a new network window, type in the following:
- Network name: Bates
- Security type: WPA2-PSK (AES)
- Security key: Bobc@t1855
- Place a checkmark in the check box next to Connect automatically
- Place a checkmark in the check box next to Connect even if this network is not broadcasting.
- Click on Save.
- Close the Settings app.
