Administrator Privileges on Bates Owned Computers (Windows)

 Note: These instructions are for computers using the Windows OS.


We have implemented AdminByRequest to help you seamlessly carry out your tasks on your computer while ensuring its protection against potential security threats. If you require Administrator access to perform certain tasks on your computer, such as installing software, the following steps will guide you on how to use this software to request Administrator access.


Step 1: Locate the AdminByRequest Check Mark Icon

  • Find the green check mark icon in your taskbar (bottom right of your screen)

Step 2: Request Administrator Access

  • Click on the green check mark and choose Request Administrator Access

Step 3: Provide a Reason for Requesting Administrator Access

  • In the popup window, enter a Reason for requesting administration access,
  • Click on OK to start an Administrator session.

Step 4: Confirmation 

  • You will now have Administrator access for the next 30 minutes.

Step 5: Finish Your Session (Optional)

  • If you finish early, click on the Finish button to end your Administrator session.
