SecureW2 is used at Bates College to securely configure your computer to connect to eduroam, Bates' Wi-Fi network. During setup, SecureW2 installs a security certificate linked to your Bates account. This certificate is valid for five years and lets your computer connect to eduroam automatically without requiring you to enter your Bates username and password each time.
Under normal circumstances, you do not need to remove SecureW2 or its security certificate. However, you may need to remove the existing configuration in some situations, such as troubleshooting Wi-Fi connectivity issues or preparing to reinstall the certificate.
