Bates College uses the Palo Alto Global Protect VPN to create a secure and private connection between your device (like your computer or phone) and the Internet. When you use a VPN, your data travels through an encrypted tunnel, keeping it safe from anyone who might want to snoop on it, like hackers or your Internet service provider. So, in short, a VPN protects your privacy and security while you're browsing the Internet.
Note: When installing the Palo Alto Global Protect VPN, you must do so on campus so your computer can connect to the Bates Network.
